Pian del Lago is a large plain of 150 hectares between Siena and Montagnola senese. An ancient lake, reclaimed by “a nineteenth-century hydraulic engineering masterpiece”.
Walking along the Via Francigena we will get to the Lecceto wood, through the paths that connect two medieval hermitages, places of spiritual stillness, hermits and pilgrims, where art, culture and impressive buildings hides themselves in a small strip of wood. We will then explore the underground, crossing the tunnel “Canale del Granduca”, hiding from the sunlight for over 2 km, in a unique experience.
